Obtaining the Original Motion to Join

Obtaining the original motion for joining international directive programs, such as the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) – Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) Program, is a strategic step for effectively communicating with councils. This documentation serves several critical purposes:

Verification of Adoption: It provides proof that the council has formally adopted the program, which is essential when discussing the program's implications and future involvement.
Basis for Reconsideration: Having the original motion allows us to present a clear and informed case to councils, recommending that they reconsider their participation based on current circumstances and priorities.
Facilitating Agenda Inclusion: It helps us get on the agenda when delegating on action items aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction initiatives. Providing the original motion strengthens our position and ensures our concerns are heard and addressed.
